Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition

Amid the pantheon of Jeep Wrangler models, the Rubicon 392 sits at the very top. Since its unveiling in late 2020, the superpowered backcountry dominator has established itself as one of the greatest road-legal off-road vehicles ever devised thanks to its top-tier driving athletics and the absolutely bonkers amount of power it puts out.

But, all good things must come to an end. Jeep recently announced that very soon, the Wrangler Rubicon 392 will be no more.

Fret not though, because this beast is going out on top with the Rubicon 392 Final Edition, a limited run of specially kitted Wranglers that’s sure to become a classic.

What’s so special about the Rubicon 392? How is it different from the regular Rubicon? We’re here to tell ya.

The Rubicon 392 at a Glance

One of the main things that makes this Jeep so sought-after is that it’s the fastest, loudest, and most powerful model by far. So-named for the 392 cubic inches of displacement housed within, it features a monstrous 6.4-liter HEMI V8, which is rated at 470 horsies and 470 pound-feet of torque. It’s capable of rocketing the quarter mile in 13 seconds flat, and jumps from zero to sixty in just four and a half seconds.

You may be sitting there thinking, jeez, a V8 Jeep, the thing is probably an insurance claim waiting to happen, right? Some Jeep aficionados will reply that that’s kinda the point, but the experts at MotorTrend would roundly disagree, as they found no evidence of the infamous “death wobble” even at triple-digit speeds thanks to its sublime suspension and generous track width.

Of course, nobody buys a Rubicon 392 intending to keep it on the highway all the time. It was always intended to feel most at home monster trucking around the trail, and boy does it deliver. The engine is tuned for a prodigious amount of low-end torque for maximum rock-crawling ability. It comes standard with massive tires and a significant factory lift. It’s also fitted to withstand water fording at nearly 3 feet of depth. Plus, the Select-Trac active transfer case allows your pick between 4WD Auto, High, and Low. A more robust selection of drive modes is available with Off-Road Plus as well, with Sand and Rock modes to conquer any terrain you come across.

In a nutshell, the only thing that can actually stop this Jeep is your own foot on the brake pedal.

Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition: The Best Gets Better

So, now that we’ve run through the basics of that make the Rubicon 392 a different beast, let’s check out how the Final Edition ups the ante even more.

One of the biggest add-ons is the factory-installed Warn winch, which boasts an insane 8,000-pound capacity, so even if you do somehow manage to get this thing stuck, you can bet it won’t stay that way for long. Be prepared, because this equipment is going to make you part of the de facto trail rescue team wherever you go.

If it wasn’t already lifted enough, the Final Edition received another half an inch for a total of 11.6 inches of ground clearance and 34 and a half inches of water fording. Heavy-duty rock sliders and a grille guard also come standard.

Another major change is that the tires got even bigger—the Xtreme Tire Package is now standard on all 2024 models, which comes with 35-inch BFGoodrich A/T tires for added mud-eating capability. The aesthetics get a boost as well with stylish bronze 17-inch wheels.

The rims aren’t the only thing that are elevated in the looks department. All Final Edition models come with an exclusive scooped-out hood, fender vent decals, and the iconic seven-slotted grille. Inside, it’s instantly recognizable by the Nappa leather-trimmed interior with trim-specific accents, and for a little added panache, it even gets a monogramed shifter.

It also benefits from many of the same upgrades that have been implemented across the Wrangler line, including the Uconnect 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment deck and side curtain airbags.

Finally, one of our favorite little details is the Final Edition swing gate plaque and the Mopar fold-out swing gate table, which comes with an 83-piece toolkit and an optional on-board compressor.

There truly may never be another Jeep quite like the Rubicon 392, and the Final Edition represents the peak of this bright-shining, fast-burning, dirt-destroying machine. If you can’t live without one, now’s the time to act. Because Jeep is limiting production to just 3,700 units worldwide, then it’s gone.
