How the REV Powertrain Works
The Ram 1500 REV is different from a typical hybrid. The gas engine never drives the wheels. It runs a generator that turns fuel into electricity for the battery, and the battery powers the front and rear electric motors. You get the smooth, instant response of an EV with the range of a gas truck. Underneath, the REV is still a true Ram 1500, built on a tough body-on-frame platform with independent rear suspension.
